face of the day: balmain fall 2008

It may be hard to believe, but the Oscars weren't the only fashion-worthy event yesterday: Sunday marked the quiet launch of Paris Fashion Week. And in contrast to some of the high-glam looks we saw last night, the models' hair and makeup at Balmain was soft and subdued. Call it the Marion Cotillard effect, if you will. Glowy (but not shiny) skin, subtle pink cheeks, a whisper of browny-peach on the eyes, along with a slick of mascara, and petal-pink lips rounded out the healthy look. Hair was straight, but naturally so, with a slight wave to it. Even though the clothes at Balmain had a hard, punk edge, the makeup look was girl-in-the-country pretty.
What do you think of this look?

GORGEOUS! but definitely not what i normally reconcile with autumnal make-up.

i love it just because i am a fan of minimal make-up. but that is what spring and summer are for.

greendress - you're right - it's sooo not a fall look! but it's totally a look you could wear right now for spring, which is what I love, 'cause I'm sooo done with winter...:)

I think the natural look is pretty, but not exactly for me. I love to wear makeup!
