Even though it's a day off up here in Canada (Happy Canada Day my Canadian friends!), the couture shows are in full-swing in Paris, so I'm tirelessly bringing my loyal readers a taste of the haute-est beauty trends we'll be coveting come fall. First up is Dior. John Galliano's shows are all about the spectacle and yesterday's show didn't disappoint: the clothes, all about ladylike elegance with a structured, 50s vibe were surprisingly tame, while the beauty looks brought the drama. Some of the models sported the deep, dark-red lip that we've all been hearing about as the big trend for fall, but my favorite look of the show was this dreamy face done in icy pastel hues. It's so not a fall look, but there's something really fresh and unexpected about wearing baby blue and soft peach when the weather turns colder. And I love that these soft shades are matched with the extreme black eyeliner - such a great contrast. Most shocking perhaps is that after a couple of seasons of extremely unwearable beauty looks on the Dior runway, this look in particular (toned down a bit) actually looks like it would be somewhat wearable off the runway.
