would you wear mascara base?

The other day as I was perusing the cosmetic aisle of my local drugstore, I noticed an interesting little find: Lancôme's new Cils Booster XL, a sort of primer for mascara. It's a clear, whitish goo that you swipe on your lashes pre-mascara to maximize the oomph factor. It kind of reminded me of those double-ended mascara/primer duos that came out a few years ago and then suddenly disappeared (which, coincidentally, did nothing for me other than create a gray-lashes effect, with little glints of white showing through). So while I haven't tried the new Lancôme product, I'm nonetheless intrigued by its lash-boosting potential. But, truthfully I'm also a little skeptical of having to add that extra step to my beauty routine. And not only that, shouldn't your mascara be good enough to stand on its own?
So, what about you? Will you be trying this?

I haven't tried it myself, but I ran into a girl at my local Lancome counter who swears by the stuff. Her lashes looked pretty thick so, I guess that's a good testimony! : )

I do love lash primers. I'm partial to Smashbox's and haven't tried Lancome's yet. It makes my lashes thicker. Love it!

i ADORE cils booster. i hardly ever wear mascara without it. when you put on cils booster xl under Diorshow Blackout, you have what my sister describes as "bangin' lashes". they almost look false. you should try it!

the lady in the cosmetics department at my work gave me a tester, and I LOVE IT and will be going back for the full thing!

I've seen tons of mascara bases out there, MAC, Clinique, Shiseido...I myself use Shiseido. I have very straight lashes and more often than not, mascaras tend to weigh them down and uncurl what I had done with an eyelash curler, so the base actually helps hold the curl and when I put my mascara on, it doesn't straighten them out.
