Well, I'm back home from New York, but not without avoiding the dreaded Laguardia delays (after three hours of sitting on the tarmac, my flight was cancelled because of stormy weather and I had to stay overnight and fly out this morning). But on the whole, my trip was fabulous (though super-short) and I got to check out many of the lovely beauty boutiques I'd had my eye on for a while, such as Space NK and Red Flower and fashion haunts like Opening Ceremony and Sigerson Morrison. Of course, trudging through the hot-box of a city while still trying to look like a fresh flower is no mean feat. How did I do it? My lovely travel companion Melissa wondered how I got my makeup to stay put through the humid-soup and I revealed my secret, which actually surprised even me: Face Atelier's Ultra Foundation. I've mentioned this silicone-based product before, but had never put it through such a rigorous melt-test, and it held up beautifully: my skin, though it looked a bit sheeny from the humidity, still looked flawless, with no makeup slip-and-slide to speak of. That's just one more reason to try this stuff. If it can survive New York, it can survive anything.
