We've all heard about the color-crazy neon-orange nail trend, but lips are also getting the tangerine touch this summer. Color-pop lips provided a citrusy burst in shades of electric orange at the Temperley spring show, and burnt orangey-peach on the spring runways at Sonia Rykiel. Now that the weather's heating up, I'm loving these not-for-wallflowers sunny shades. But orange can be a bit tough to pull off if you're a neutral-loving gal and not used to bold hues.
My advice? Make a statement by choosing an orange that veers towards coral or peach, which are universally flattering, and keep the rest of your makeup soft to let your lips speak volumes. And if you must have a color such as MAC's Electro, a ballsy shock of tangerine from the Neo Sci Fi collection, blot it down a bit to keep the look softer. It'll look modern and pretty and not at all clowny.
