thanks Blair Waldorf, brunette is back!

I've always thought there's something mysterious and intriguing about the dark side of hair. As a brunette myself (with a penchant for dying my locks a dark chocolate), perhaps I'm a little biased, but I think this most common of hair colors is truly anything but common. As it turns out, I'm not alone: an article in the current issue of Vogue magazine hails brunette the new "it color for hair. Spring runways were peppered with brown-haired models in hues from light-ash to coffee and mocha. It's said to convey a richness, both literally and figuratively: because going dark adds moisture back in to hair, it gives it a glossy sheen that just says well-kept woman. Just look at Gossip Girl's Blair Waldorf: who says moneyed girl quite like her? And while I may have been (briefly) tempted to veer to the lighter side of locks a la Gwen Stefani, I don't think I'll ever mess with my God-given shade.
How about you?

I read she is originally a blonde but had to dye her hair dark to play Blair...

I just did a quick Google search and you're right!
It's hard to imagine her as a blonde though....

My hair is naturally a dark cherry-wood reddish brown, and although I've had blonde highlights before and I've got red in it now (dark red, just basically bringing out the red in my hair).. I could never go full-time blonde, I'm way too happy with dark hair.
