So, let's talk the The City, shall we? Like many of you, this little MTV gem has become must-see, appointment-viewing television for me. It is, quite frankly, the furthest thing from "reality" television there can be, what with its gaggle of impossibly beautiful girls dressed in designer clothing lifted from the pages of Vogue, living in their well-appointed New York City apartments, bathing in hair-filled bathtubs and working fashion-world dream "jobs" (I mean, do we really believe Whitney's working for DVF?). But that's exactly what I like about it. And Olivia Palermo, for me, is the best thing about the show. I just can't get enough of her "let-them-eat-cake" snarkiness (MTV, are you listening? More Olivia please!) But, there's one thing I can't shake about Olivia: true, Ms. Palermo is prettier than most, but recently, I was shocked to learn that the girl is 24 and not 35. The reason for her fast-track to cougarville? Beyond the fact that she dresses like a well-kept society wife, and acts like no 24-year-old I know, it's this: Too. much. makeup. She slaps on the black eyeliner and falsies like it's war paint, and for daywear, no less. Would you agree? Let me know in the comments.

Unlike you, I am no fan of this untalented, disrespectful hypocrite. But I have to agree, she does seem much too old for her age. She ought to loosen up and have some fun with her style and personality. I do like some of the items she wears, but I think she needs to mix in pieces that make her look less matronly. I have to wonder what all the makeup is about - is she s=too insecure to get by without the mask?
Agreed, she wears far too much makeup. And her slaughter of the English language hurts my ears. Her presentation at the DVF meeting was IN.SANE. An awesome moment.
Janine - Yup! too bad though, she seems so clueless as to not know that she mangled the meeting. Or, maybe she just thinks she's too powerful to be reprimanded, above the law, as they say...
