Remember this face, lovelies, because you're likely going to be seeing a lot of it. Meghan Collison's slightly brooding, droopy-eyed mug is poised to become the next big thing in the modelling world. At just 19, this Edmonton-born sylph created huge buzz at the spring shows in New York, stomping the runways of Peter Som and Anna Sui. And in the ultimate sign that shows she's arrived, here she is gracing the October 2007 cover of Vogue Italia, shot by famed photog Steven Meisel. I'm in love with her subtly bitchy, street-urchin-like look. It's one that screams: "I'm soooo much cooler than you..."
And isn't that bold "INDEPENDENT" coverline so apt?

"Brooding mug" seems apt. I don't like it, she's ugly, but it's queer how sometimes they do grow on you in spite of your initial reaction. I disliked Gemma Ward, at first. Meisel has entered his dotage, what with the models he's promoting nowadays, but I seem to be the only one who thinks models should be downright beautiful, but then, Doutzen Kroes bores me now as a greedy camera-hog, so maybe there is some virtue to having an "interesting" face.
Dain - why don't you say what you really think?! ;)
I totally agree with you on the "grow on you" comment - I didn't like Coco Rocha at all when she first emerged and now she's one of my favorites.
And the opposite is true for the beautiful girls: I was in love with Doutzen's face when I first saw her, but now she bores me. She's too pretty, too predictable...
by the way: I'm loving your interesting, thought-provoking comments....
am i the only person that thinks her face is too 'heavy'? by that i mean a bit too manly, but as you said she could grow on me.
